This morning was dress rehearsal for tomorrow's big production of the church's Christmas play. I of course have a role in the play since mom is directing. Since I am the oldest cast member, I have scored the part of Grandma Gertie. I changed the name to Gracie, since I couldn't picture me being a Gert. So we practiced for about 4 hours this morning. Highlights include:
-When I sang my solo and my voice was not really in a key, the few parents that were watching in the sanctuary actually laughed. I wasn't trying to be funny. It's not a good sign if people laugh after you sing a solo about the birth of Jesus.
-8 year old Alexis sobs when we start singing one of the songs because it makes her sad (this of course causes a HUGE commotion) and she did it every time we ran through the play
-I particularly enjoyed the Shepherds EXTREME bed head.
-The angel in the nativity refused to walk out on stage.
-I have to say the line: That was so cool, I'm having a hot flash! (and fan myself with my carol book)
-The choir leader lost her voice.
We'll see how tomorrow goes.....
